When I moved back to the downtown, my number one priority was to find not only a dog walker for my then 3-year old weimaraner Jewel, but I was determined to find the best.

After many interviews with walkers in the downtown core, I was referred to Kate at Unleashed in the city. Our first meeting was not only telling of how much she loves and understands the individual needs of dogs, but also how committed she is to ensuring her services work with your personal schedule. As many weim owners would know, they are very special dogs, and come with their many quirks and challenges that we feel only we can understand. It has been over a year since I found Kate and she honestly feels like an essential part of our family. Jewel is the happiest girl at the end of the day, and I read in her daily journal all about where she explored that day and who she played with on her adventure. Kate has helped her with behavior issues that have come up and general socialization skills which has been a huge bonus. At the end of the day I have a tired happy dog and she looks forward to seeing Kate each day- she just loves her!

I also count on Kate for her boarding services when I am out of town, and I get updates with pictures of what Jewel has been up to, which gives me such peace of mind that my girl is happy, and well taken care of. I don’t know what I would do without Unleashed in the city!

When my husband and I brought home our two retired racing greyhounds in 2006

we knew we wanted them to have a mid-day break. Since neither of us could

take the time away from work to do it ourselves we had to find a dog walking

service. Now part of every adoption agreement with greyhound rescue groups is

that the dogs are never to be allowed off-leash unless in a fenced area. We

needed to find a dog walking service we could trust explicitly with this and

that would care for our dogs like they were their own. As all pet owners know

they are part of the family and you want them to be treated as such. To add

to the challenge we discovered early on that our 85 pound male grey was

aggressive towards other dogs. I found walking him was not the easiest task

for me and I wanted to be sure that the service we hired would have no issues

with him. He's was a total sweetie pie just fear-aggressive.

When Kate came over to meet the dogs she was very thorough with the questions

she asked and the notes she took. You could tell immediately that she was an

animal lover without being a pushover which was very reassuring to us. After

her first visit with the pups we returned home to a note giving us the

details from the day's walk. We really appreciated this. Kate even went so

far as to allow me to accompany her on walks so that I could learn to better

control our big boy. We have been using Unleashed in the City for over three

years and have been extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and

care.

Recently we lost our male greyhound, Jack to cancer. After he passed Kate

dropped by and shared with us some movies and photos that had been taken of

him on his walks with Unleashed over the years. We couldn't have been more

thankful.
