Position: Full Time Operations Coordinator: Bookkeeping + Small Business Development

We are seeking a dynamic new team member to join our company of dog lovers as a Full Time Operations Coordinator with a strong focus on Bookkeeping and Small Business Development.

We are looking for a patient individual who is a great self-starter but also works well in a team environment. Attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving and great communication skills are a must along with a positive attitude and, of course, a love of dogs!

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a responsible Operations Coordinator to help with Bookkeeping and Small Business Development tasks, in addition to a variety of administrative tasks.

  • Bookkeeping (i.e. accounts payable/receivable, budgeting etc.)
  • Working closely with the owner/President to develop and execute business and finance strategies
  • Assisting the owner with small business development
  • Setting and achieving monthly and yearly business goals
  • Organizing and coordinating daily internal operations between departments
  • Providing support to our Office Administrators, clients and assisting in daily office needs
  • Answering and directing phone calls
  • Client facing responsibilities, greeting clients in a warm and professional manor
  • Organizing and scheduling appointments via Booker
  • Overseeing and attending to correspondence by answering emails, phone calls and sending daily reports
  • Support our Tuck Shop – assisting customers and merchandising
  • Assists in purchasing orders and invoicing

Qualifications:

  • Required eduaction: Secondary School Diploma, related post secondary an asset
  • Minimum 2 years experience in bookkeeping and office administration
  • Previous experience with small business devlopment an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs/Sheets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, must have great attention to detail, be well organized, can work independently and on a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with focus on timely project completion and exceeding customer’s expectations.
  • Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle would be an asset

This is an hourly position. Salary range $14.50 – $17.00/hr dependent on experience. 

 


Position: Field Pack Leader/Dog Walker at Unleashed in the City – Canine Adventure Co.

Unleashed in the City is growing and we are currently seeking to fill the roles of F/T and P/T Field Pack Leaders (dog walkers) to join our exceptional team of dedicated dog lovers and adventure seekers! This is a CONTRACTED position.

Over the past 14 years, we’ve established a group of honest and hard-working dog lovers that were handpicked to be the face and heart of Unleashed in the City. We work hard to develop a unique and personal relationship with all of our pack members and focus on stimulating all senses, keeping them fit, socialized and emotionally stimulated.

Our Mission is simple: Live Active. Live Social. Live Unleashed. Live life to the fullest!

Unleashed in the City Field Pack Leaders are expected to be calm, confident and assertive with a caring and adventurous personality and, of course, knowledgeable and passionate about dogs! Candidates should be comfortable with city driving. Attention to detail and great communication skills are a must.

Your typical day would include, but is not limited to:

  • Adventure Hikes to the beach or forest
  • Parks Play to local dog parks
  • City driving – pickup/drop off dogs in their homes
  • Occasional community event support and involvement

Requirements:

  • All candidates must have their own vehicle (van, SUV, hatchback, station wagon) that can safely and comfortably transport a pack of up to 6 dogs
  • Candidates must have a clean driving record, supply a police background check and provide at least two references
  • Valid Ontario Drivers Licesnse
  • Bondable & Insurable
  • Comfortable working with dogs is a must!
  • Great work ethic and abilitiy to problem solve
  • Positive attitude
  • Must be available M-F from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • Occasional evening, weekend and Holiday shifts

Position: Playcare Attendent at Unleashed in the City – Canine Adventure Co.

We are seeking patient individuals who are great self-starters but also work well in a team environment. Attention to detail and great communication skills are a must along with a positive attitude and, of course, a love of dogs!

Playcare Attendents are expected to be calm, confident and assertive with a caring and adventurous personality, can easily adapt to change, and are knowledgeable and passionate about dogs.

Candidates should be familiar with the city of Toronto and comfortable navigating the Lower Ossington, King West, Queen West, Dundas West, and Trinity Bellwoods areas.

Your typical day would include, but is not limited to:

  • Handling a pack of up to 6 dogs for park and pack walks (rain or shine)
  • Engaging with and supervising dogs in Playcare
  • Regular cleaning of the Playcare, retail, and overnight boarding areas
  • Writing daily reports and basic administrative work
  • Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Feeding the dogs and administering medication when needed
  • Team meetings

Position: Part-Time Office Administrator

We are seeking a dynamic new team member to join our company of dog lovers as a Part Time Office Administrator.
We are looking for a patient individual who is a great self-starter but also works well in a team environment. Attention to detail and great communication skills are a must along with a positive attitude and, of course, a love of dogs!

Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a responsible Office Administrator to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks on an as-needed basis for our clients and community
  • Providing support to the Office Managers, our clients and assisting in daily office needs, as required
  • Answering and directing phone calls
  • Client facing responsibilities, greeting clients in a warm and professional manor
  • Organizing and scheduling appointments via Booker
  • Daily client billing via Booker
  • Managing correspondence by answering emails and sending daily tails, as needed
  • Assists in planning and arranging events, as needed
  • Helping to manage our Tuck Shop – pricing merchandise, stocking shelves
  • Assists in purchase orders and invoicing, as needed
  • Assists in cleaning/organizing duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Office Administrator (especially in the animal care industry)
  • A successful Office Admin should also have experience with a variety of office software (email tools, spreadsheets and databases) and be able to accurately handle administrative duties
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, must have great attention to detail, be well organized and an independent team player
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with focus on timely project completion and exceeding customer’s expectations.
  • Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle would be an asset
