As a pet owner since a very early age, Kate’s love for dogs only grew stronger with each one she met. When she didn’t have a family dog for a short time growing up, she would walk a neighbors dog, just to spend time with him and because she didn’t want him to be alone.

Kate studied kinesiology and phys-ed at Wilfred Laurier University where she also continued to play, coach, and referee competitive sports including hockey, soccer, flag-football and lacrosse. Kate has always been active and had a love for the outdoors.

Since starting Unleashed in 2003, Kate’s motivation has always been to give each and every dog a unique adventure that will help them come out of their shell and go home tired and satisfied from having such a fun time with their buddies.

Kate created Unleashed so she could focus on giving the dogs a more active and adventurous day than they would have if they were with another company, or home alone. To see a dog get to experience their first run through the forest or their first time wrestling with a new friend and come out of their shell to be fully “unleashed” is the ultimate experience for Kate and now for her pack leaders as well.

Kate lives with her husband Adam and their dogs Bean, Sprout, Jack and Yogurt.
